So Travellers cheques are incredibly difficult to cash in Ghana. While I completely understand about local ForEx bureaus not being able to cash travellers cheques I was (and still am) completely perplexed about the airport office not accepting them. You live and learn I guess.

Try bringing chocolates or other foodstuffs to the bank when cashing travellers checks, and offer it to the tellers. In my experience, that usually alleviates concerns and makes the entire process move faster.
